Memory jogs and jigs…

The mind is a funny old place… well… when I say the mind… I mean my mind as obviously I have no idea what goes on in yours… but mine for sure is curious… curious in many ways…

And one of the really nice things I like about the work that I do, is that over the years, I’ve built up a little circle of people that I trade skills with… and whilst it’s great to read for yourself, well it’s also good to visit someone else… sometimes just to remind you how great it feels to be on the receiving end… sometimes because… hey two heads are better than one and yes, while I can sort this out on my own… I can get it done much quicker with a bit of good company…

So…  a few weeks back, I found myself swapping Reiki with a friend and as she finished she said to me… wait there… this will probably sound a bit weird but I have an overwhelming urge to give you something… Off she ran upstairs and when she returned, she handed me this…

A promotional garland for Jagermeister… She held it up and asked me – does this mean anything to you?

No, not really I said… but I reached my hand out anyway and took it and as I held it… In my mind’s eye, this appeared…

Now this did mean something to me… It sprung up lots of business thoughts and advice to guard my money… and several other things… But I knew that that was not all of it… there was still something I needed to consider…

Well such is my life, that when I have a question hanging… the answer will come along and find me eventually in some way, shape or form… and I received a text message from a colleague – Would you like to case study for me?

Now that’s an instant YES! even without knowing what for as time spent with this lady is never time that is wasted and always it ignites my mind… But this was a double YES!! I was being offered a Shamanic journey… I  really should pay more attention to detail as I can’t recall exactly what it’s called but somewhere in there are the words – soul – retrieval- power… arrange them as you wish…

So… journeying was done and it was a rather delicious adventure though don’t ask for details and it was filled with dreamlike imagery and sensations of moving and rising and falling… yet you are perfectly still and awake…

She said to me afterwards… The Stag… There was a stag… what does it mean? Apparently you know the answer…

And again my mind filled with images… though this time from a different wood…

Oooooh! HA! I laughed!! How funny!! Bradgate Park in 1992!!! The Stag!!!

Oh my goodness… how could I ever have forgotten that?

Yes… late Summer or I’m more inclined to think early Autumn as I remember it as warm rather than hot and it had been a scorcher that year… I’m guessing it was a time around my Birthday…so late September… yes… that feels to be right… I was sat with Mr S on a patch of grass in a clearing between ferns and longer grass… and in between us sat my eldest, slightly wobbly and although confident in sitting not quite at the point of being able to crawl away even though it was clear in his eyes that the desire for movement was there…

And me and Mr S chitted and chatted… and shot the breeze… and generally lazed around…

Then a noise behind me… a munching… something I’d not heard before but knew it was the sound of some creature eating…munching creeping nearer… louder… the hairs on the back of my neck didn’t care much for it… I saw Mr S’s face and his eyes grew wide… I turned slowly and found myself staring right into a pair of dark brown eyes… eyes that were between a massive span of antlers that extended beyond my peripheral vision…

I stared… He stared… we both held our stares…

Then another noise! Loud! Shocked! Surprised! Turning the air blue with expletives as a man had just turned to corner to see what we saw and his Jack Russell yipped and yapped and ran in circles and wiggled as the man wrestled the lead and tried to stuff the pooch under his armpit as he scurried and turned and ran away…

The Stag… nostrils flared… I flared mine…

I held his gaze and in my mind I spoke to him… I told him about the story my father-in-law had read in a newspaper about a woman with a child being attacked by a lion… The headline read – Lion escaped with minor injuries…

I told that stag… stay where you are… don’t make me kick your ass…

I heard Mr S… Karen… we need to get out of here… stand up slowly… let’s pick everything up and quietly leave…

I picked up my child but never dropped my gaze and backed away slowly until the stag I guess bored of me and dropped his gaze and focused his attention nearer to the end of his nose and what was going into his mouth…

So… why had that stag reappeared… what did he want to tell me…

I guess that when you have something precious, you will stare what ever scares you right in the face and carry on to where you need to be…

I don’t know… What do you think?

I’ve got this awful habit of just making stuff up to connect the dots… maybe there was no story to be found… maybe life is just a series of random events that aren’t supposed to make sense…

Either way it’s a great adventure…
