Divination Rocks!

PREVIOUS|MASTER LIST|NEXT

Welcome to the latest Tarot Blog Hop set by Arwen Lynch who gave the following brief:

“Do you combine Tarot with any other divination system? Why or why not?”
That’s it. Short and sweet. Simple. You can answer it however you like.
Karen Sealey
Now my first reflex answer was – No, no I don’t combine tarot with other divination systems! Why? Because most of my tarot is done fast paced at events and when it comes to setting up and packing away, I like to be in and out like the SAS and not worrying about whether or not I have everything…
But then it occurs to me… in the comfort of my own home, I tend to use lots of different divination systems and then yes, yes I will combine other divination systems with tarot… and yes, yes I do know that that vice versa version of the question makes me sound like a pernickety pedant… but hey ho! Virgo is as Virgo does…
So… recently, I’ve been working a lot with casting crystals and for many years I’ve done it with a big bag that’s getting bigger and bigger and so I decided it was time to mix things up a bit and try something else, so I opted for the 16 stone method of 10 planet stones and 6 stones for pockets of life…
So let’s give you a drive-by crapshoot of a reading…

Ok – so here you have the 16 stones tossed down and I’ll outline quickly the key things that caught my eye… Ok, so there’s a big cluster in 10th house which reflects the nature of the question in question… But more interestingly to me was – one of the first things that I look for is where the Sun stone (central yellow one) is and where the Life stone (top right green one)is… So… the Sun stone tends to depict where you’re at and the Life stone – where you feel you are at… so preferably I like to see them close together though not necessarily central. The Life stone is way off yonder and as I look across the two stones I see that they are part of a line of four stones, where outside the circle at around 8 0’clock is the Love stone and in the 8th house is the Mars stone pointing towards the 7th house. So in brief, I’m seeing that regarding work, the loving feeling has been somewhat lost and although the querent has a strong presence they are feeling adrift… the cause of that feels to be pointed out by the Mars stone which hints as blockages caused by passive aggressive relationships…

So… this where the Tarot comes in and with this casting method, I like to use A.T. Mann’s Mandala Astrological Tarot…

Why? Because crystals are very good at giving the big picture but the problem with that is that it’s easy to slide into a slip-stream of a solipsistic swim-a-thon dissolving into drowning in an ocean of onanistic observations never arriving at a cut and dry answer…

So… the Tarot… it keeps it short and sweet… it cuts the crap and culls the deadwood away to see the live shoots…

So… above, 3 cards were pulled to see where to focus on pulling that Sun stone and Life stone into a conjunction… The cards write the hit list and then all the misses are removed…

The Life stone was left on as it was part of the question and the cards stripped down the cast, leaving just the 5th and 6th house occupied, leaving a  very succinct answer to the original work question. Ah! but there’s a stone sat in Aries that has been accidentally left behind… or maybe not, as that stone is Saturn and as it happens the position in Aries matches the Querent’s natal chart but we’re keeping this short and sweet so I’ll wrap it up here and toss you out to my neighbours…

Crystal Cast

CRYSTALCASTNOTE

The Crystal Cast uses a collection of 56 beautiful crystals, that I have worked with and learnt from over many years as a healer. Time and time again, I noticed that people were intuitively drawn to exactly the right crystals to meet their needs. By meditating and working with my guides, I have found a way to share the wisdom of the crystals to help others along their life path.

Three casts are made – Past, Present and Future

In order to look to the future, we need to be able to examine where we are and how we arrived there through conscious and unconscious efforts. Valuable insights can be made from our past and present, so that we can become fully aware of our full potential in the future.

The position of the crystals on the cloth brings insight to your inner world and helps to understand the energy and influences around you. It may indicate which areas of your life are out of balance and aid you to use your own natural powers of intuition to bring harmony and healing into your life.

Casting Chrysalis Crystals…

So… it’s a bit of rainy day today and it feels like a good day, to be busy doing nothing in particular… so… I thought I would share something I have been playing around with for quite a while…

Yes… I’ve been playing with Mr Jordan Hoggard’s 78 spreads for quite a while, in quite a few ways… with tarot and oracles or for playing with sketches, or pieces of writing and sometimes even as place to go meditating… a private pool for skinny dipping…

And often, I like to get my crystals out… so here is the most recent cast…

Chrysalis Crystals

Chrysalis Crystals

So… let’s have a quick sprint through the ‘Spiracle Miracle’ Spread…

1. What chrysalis protects your transformations for new growth?

The ability to tap into unconscious wisdom, intuition, the psychic self and then to communicate visions clearly. Being alert to deceptions to remove energetic blocks. Developing the trust that inner magic illuminates outer world.

2. How is your chrysalis connected?

By speaking from the heart – being aware of and guided by feelings to resolve emotions. Sensing the emotions of others and using the ability to adapt ideas to real human situations.

3. How do your inner wings aspirate inspiration?

Trusting own feelings in any situations where strong feelings are held. Look for the truth of a situation rather than being swayed by sympathy.

4. What body of ideas will emerge to breath new life?

Getting back to grass roots and trusting the evidence of the senses… a re-connection to the knowledge that you are born just knowing…

5. What inner sun(flower) prepares you for each new breath?

Patience… recognising and allowing natural endings to phases of life. Finding balance and harmony. Allowing the optimism that is created by new ideas to come into focus.

I kind of like that… it sits quite nicely with… The Knight of Wands…

That’s my play for today with my supporting cast of crystals 😀

How will you play today?

Doe Demure’s Dance Dilemma…

Doe Demure is a professional dancer, dance teacher and choreographer based in the East Midlands. If you live in Leicester and you’ve not met Doe yet on your travels, where on earth have you been? This is one busy lady… Not only does Doe perform at a variety of events including weddings, private parties, clubs, restaurants, festivals and outdoor events, she is also the brains behind Art Shark which is due to celebrate its 1st Birthday on 17th July down at The Donkey.

I invited Doe over to The Pure and Blessed Way and asked her if she had a question for my cards…

“Hmm, ok, well I have this on going struggle with whether I am doing myself an injustice as a dancer doing burlesque with its provocative nature and all, maybe that’s something to ask about?”

So… Let’s have a look…

Doe's Dance Partners

Doe’s Dance Partners

We’re dancing in the dark here… the muse came to visit very late at night!

So let’s take them out into the garden the next day to shed more light…

Rockin' with rocks and cards...

Rockin’ with rocks and cards…

So… I was quite surprised by the first card I pulled from my own cards, the BraRacle… A blushing bride? That’s not the first thing that springs to mind when I think of Doe… but hold on a minute… maybe there is a little hint in her name… Demure?? That’s given me food for thought… Or does the virginal quality reflect attributes of Doe’s Virgo birth sign?

It feels to me that maybe Doe is quite traditional at heart, I chose this card to represent her core values and long held beliefs, so I feel it reflects attitudes that were around as she was growing up and views on what is considered to be appropriate behaviour and this is what a ‘good girl’ should do…

And thoughts on appropriate behaviour had me turn to the master of inappropriate tarot and over to Janden Daniel Hale’s Darkana to see what badass qualities Doe possesses to handle her present situation. So, here we found the King of Cups… Interesting… A more male minded approach to handling your emotions? A cool detached perspective… I looked at these cards and it felt to me that there is a lot of pent up frustration and at times it feels almost as though her head will explode… frustration at the environment that she performs in… dealing with people whose inhibitions have been loosened by alcohol… people not respecting boundaries… BUT!!! Nothing Doe can’t deal with… I look at how the King places his hand on the drinker’s head… Stay calm Doe! Keep a few people at arm’s length…

I pulled a further card… I’ll get to it… but first I want to bounce around those rocks… I feel there are a few things there to think about… Firstly it strikes me that Doe may have some very large ideas in mind, which at present feel out of reach and I’m going out on a limb here and I’m changing the question, to the one that I hear… which is  – I have a huge dream! How can I get there and will people treat me seriously?

Firstly… Doe… I’m seeing that black stone there which you can’t see properly due to the light… but it fell into what felt to be the centre of the spread and when that shows up, normally changes are in the process of being made and you have made the bulk of the decisions but it is s…l…o..w…. so  s…l….o…..w……. that it feels like one step forwards and two steps back… But it is necessary to be slow here, you are putting in place good firm foundations and that takes time… it also often means removing a few things that are holding you back whether that may be beliefs, attitudes or sometimes people…

I see a caring nature here, but often someone who is easily swallowed up into taking care of others to a greater extent than caring for her own needs… There is a need to prioritise some me time! I see this green and pink unakite come up a lot with women and they are often tiring themselves out looking after someone who really should be doing  more to help themselves. And that yellow stone there… indicates to be more assertive. But I’m not worried about you… that red tiger’s eye that sits with the bride tells me you are more than well equipped to handle yourself 😀

Now I move to Jordan Hoggard’s 9 of Swords from Mystereum – how can you use your imagination to get to where you want to be? All the thoughts and ideas are there, they just need arranging into harmonious dance partners… what’s the beat and rhythm required? You don’t need to chose either or here… or compromise…you need to choreograph! You need decisive action! You need to say – SCREW YOU! I’ll do it MY WAY!! and I see that tree agate sat nearby and I think once you stop caring what people will say and just do what you do… then you’ll fast track to that big dream…

And remember… There’s no such thing as bad publicity… Only publicity…

I’ll let Doe dance you out…

GO GIRL!!!
